The Presidential 1776 Award (or Impossible Civics Test) is part of a national civics competition that challenges high school students who have interest in history around the founding of America and the ideas that shaped this country. The competition focuses on the Founders, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitutional Convention, and the key battles and soldiers of the American Revolutionary War.
All students who completed the test will receive their Presidential 1776 Award participation badge in their free Learning & Employment Record (LER) provided by LER.me. The badge will represent a level (foundational, intermediate, advanced) that the student reached in the exam, rather than a score. Students will have lifelong access to their LER where they can continue to track their achievements, special projects, certifications, volunteer history, and work history in one secure and sharable digital record. To access, simply log into LER.me using the same email and password used to participate in this competition.
